A note from Nick
I am an interim HR manager based in Frankfurt, Germany, with more than seven years in HR. I build AI automations together with HR teams, and I run ai-toolfinder.
In my work the same questions come up again and again: which tool actually solves this task, does it work in our country, where is the data stored, and what do legal and the works council need to know. Search results mostly answered with vendor listicles. So I built the directory I wanted to have, one where every core fact has a source and a date.
- I decide which tools are listed and set the rules for how profiles are checked and ranked. The rules are public on the method page.
- I read every review before it goes live. Vendors can reply, but they cannot delete anything.
- I fund the directory myself. No vendor pays for a listing or for a better position.

Method
How we review, in five steps
- 1Listing
An entry goes into the directory when it serves a business purpose, its AI function is described publicly and it can be used today. Beta features do not count. Besides software we list open-source projects, models, datasets, APIs, MCP servers, agent skills, browser extensions and research papers with code.
- 2Evidence
Every core fact (price, data hosting, certifications, languages, company sizes, AI features) needs a source, usually the vendor's own page. No source, no fact. No sources, no indexed profile.
- 3Second check
A second review round reads every fact against its source. What does not match is corrected or removed.
- 4Date
Every profile shows when it was last checked. Pricing pages and sources are fetched again regularly.
- 5Reviews
Nick reads every review before it goes live. Vendors can reply but cannot delete anything.

Funding
Independence and funding
- No vendor pays to be listed, for its profile text or for its position in lists. There are no ads, no affiliate links and no sponsored placements.
- The directory is funded by Nick. He earns his living from interim HR assignments and AI projects in HR through Nick's Advisory. Clients of that work may use tools listed here. That never changes a profile, a rating or the order of results.
- Vendors can correct facts about their own tool and reply to reviews. They cannot edit or remove reviews.
- If paid options ever come, for example clearly labeled sponsored placements, this page will say so first, and every such placement will be labeled.
