Its store lists more than 76,000 ready-made Actors for common websites, and developers publish their own. The company, Apify Technologies s.r.o., is based in Prague and reports 84,000 customers. It also maintains the open-source crawling library Crawlee. Plans range from a free tier to Business, all billed by platform usage.

• Builds knowledge bases from websitesThe Website Content Crawler crawls whole sites, including documents such as PDF and DOCX, and exports text or Markdown. It connects to LangChain, LlamaIndex, Pinecone and Qdrant, so teams can load company or product pages into a retrieval system without writing a crawler.
• Summarizes crawled pages on requestIf you switch on the optional summary, the Website Content Crawler writes an AI summary of each page into a separate field, using a model via OpenRouter at extra cost. Downstream models can check this field first to judge whether a page is relevant, which saves tokens in large crawls.
• Gives AI agents scraping toolsThrough the Apify MCP server, Claude and other MCP clients can start Actors directly after an OAuth login. An agent can then fetch fresh web data on request instead of relying on its training data.

Actors in the store come from Apify and third parties, so check the author, maintenance and terms of each one. The data processing addendum allows transfers to the United States and other subprocessor countries. Usage-based billing depends on compute units and proxies, so test real workloads before committing. Confirm that scraping the target sites is allowed, especially where personal data is involved. The tool offers features for bypassing bot protection, such as circumventing anti-scraping protections with browser fingerprinting and proxies. Using them can breach the target sites' terms of use and is legally risky in Germany, for example under Section 202a of the German Criminal Code (StGB) or database rights. Have their use legally reviewed before deployment.
