What is CLAP?

CLAP is a performance management platform from South Korea aimed at midsize and large companies. It covers goals, feedback, 1:1 meetings and reviews, and uses AI to draft feedback, summarize comments and support managers during review cycles.

CLAP is operated by DWhale Co., Ltd. in Seoul. Modules cover multi-rater reviews with calibration, goal setting with check-ins, continuous feedback, 1:1 meeting templates, diagnostic surveys and custom reports. Slack and Google Calendar connect on all plans. The vendor names more than 1,000 client companies, among them SL, Air Premia and Ananti.

Prices are published per active user in won. Servers run on AWS according to the privacy policy. The website is in Korean, so the tool fits companies with established review processes in Korea.

CLAP AI features and use cases

  • Drafts peer feedbackBased on recent collaboration, the feedback AI suggests whom an employee could give feedback to and writes a first draft from that context. Employees only edit and send it, which lowers the effort of regular feedback.
  • Summarizes review commentsThe summary AI condenses large numbers of written comments and feedback into short summaries and filters out inappropriate wording. Managers and HR can read the core of a review without going through every single comment.
  • Helps write goals and reviewsThe support AI assists with setting goals, wording review comments and preparing 1:1 meetings. Managers with little practice in written reviews get suggested text they can adapt.
  • Documents 1:1 meetingsThe AI summarizes 1:1 meetings automatically and compiles growth reports on employee development. HR teams gain a consistent record of development talks without manual minutes.

What sets CLAP apart

  • Publishes per-user prices in won, with a lower rate for annual contracts that can be canceled without penalty within one month of the first billing.
  • Offers a separate Assessment plan for companies that only need a diagnostic season rather than year-round performance management.
  • Targets midsize and large companies in Korea with configurable review processes and calibration.

Where CLAP is strongest

CLAP is run by DWhale Co., Ltd. in Seoul; the vendor reports more than 1,000 companies in Korea as users, such as SL, Air Premia and Ananti.

Questions to ask before you buy CLAP

Ask which AWS region stores the data and which AI models process review texts, as the pages we checked in September 2026 do not say. Check compliance with Korea's Personal Information Protection Act. AI support for performance reviews counts as high risk under Annex III of the EU AI Act if used for staff in the EU, from December 2, 2027. SSO and custom integrations require the Enterprise plan.

Rules for HR in South Korea

  • PIPA gives a right to explanation and refusal on automated decisions
  • AI Framework Act names employment a high-impact sector
  • Labor-management councils required at workplaces with 30+ employees
