Mistral Small 4 is an open-weight mixture-of-experts model from French developer Mistral AI that combines general chat, reasoning and coding in one model and runs under the Apache 2.0 license.
Small 4 has 119 billion parameters with about 6.5 billion active per token, 128 experts with 4 active and a 256,000-token context. It merges the former Instruct, Magistral reasoning and Devstral coding lines. Reasoning effort is set per request. The model accepts text and images and supports dozens of languages including English, French, German, Spanish, Italian and Dutch. Mistral publishes speculative-decoding and NVFP4 checkpoints for faster serving.
