What is Darktrace?

Darktrace is a cybersecurity platform that uses self-learning AI to detect unusual behavior in networks, email and cloud services and to contain attacks automatically. It suits organizations with their own security or IT operations team.

Darktrace offers network detection and response for hybrid environments, email security and protection for AI usage on one platform. The company was founded in 2013, is headquartered in Cambridge, UK, and states it has more than 2,300 employees and around 10,000 customers in 110 countries.

Darktrace AI features and use cases

  • Investigates alerts on its ownCyber AI Analyst works through alerts from Darktrace and other security tools, follows the trail like an analyst would and writes a plain-language summary with next steps. The SOC reviews finished investigations instead of starting from raw alerts.
  • Learns what normal looks likeSelf-learning models build a picture of normal activity for users and devices and flag deviations, including subtle attacker behavior. This helps catch attacks that signature-based tools have not seen before.
  • Contains attacks automaticallyAutonomous Response blocks malicious actions such as unusual connections while regular work continues. The team gains time to analyze a critical incident before it spreads.

What sets Darktrace apart

  • Offers customer data hosting on AWS, Google Cloud and Azure in regions including the US, UK, EU, Australia, Singapore, UAE and South Africa.
  • Holds ISO/IEC 42001 for AI management in addition to ISO/IEC 27001:2022 and ISO/IEC 27018.
