ScrapingBee AI features, pricing and GDPR (October 2026)

ScrapingBee is a web scraping API from a French company. Developers send a URL and receive page content, rendered in headless Chrome with rotating proxies, or structured data extracted by CSS selectors or AI, without running their own scraping infrastructure.

The product is a single HTTP API with options for JavaScript rendering, browser scenarios (click, scroll, type), screenshots, premium and stealth proxies and country-level geotargeting. Dedicated endpoints return Google, Amazon, Walmart, YouTube, ChatGPT and Gemini results, and a Markdown mode outputs pages as clean text for language models. Plans run on API credits, and a request costs more credits when it uses rendering, premium proxies or AI extraction. The operator is VostokInc SAS in Paris, which states that more than 4,500 developers use the service. It suits teams with at least one developer, and no HR department is involved.

• Extracts fields by plain-English queryA request carries an ai_query that says which prices, titles or contacts to find, and ScrapingBee passes the rendered page to an AI layer that returns the match. Teams skip writing and repairing CSS selectors for pages whose layout changes often.
• Returns structured JSON from field rulesWith ai_extract_rules the caller lists fields and types in JSON, each with a natural-language description, and gets predictable JSON back. An optional ai_selector limits the AI to one part of the page, which the vendor says improves precision and shortens processing.
• Lets AI assistants call the scraperAn MCP server and a CLI connect tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, Codex and Cursor to ScrapingBee. An assistant can fetch live pages or search results during a task, so its answers rest on current web data and not on training data alone.
• Collects AI answers for monitoringThe ChatGPT and Gemini APIs take a prompt and return the answer as JSON, Markdown or plain text, and the Gemini API adds country geotargeting and citation arrays. Marketing and SEO teams can track how AI assistants mention a brand without copying answers by hand.

• The vendor charges only for successful requests, defined as responses with HTTP status 200, 404 or 410, and a basic request costs 1 credit.
• Dedicated endpoints for Google, Amazon, Walmart, YouTube, ChatGPT and Gemini return ready-made JSON without custom parsing.
• French operator with API servers hosted in France, a DPA accepted at account activation, and a SOC 2 Type II statement.
• Integrations for n8n, Make and Zapier sit next to the API, so non-developers can add scraping to automations.

ScrapingBee is operated by VostokInc SAS, based in Paris. According to its legal notices the API servers run with Clever Cloud in Nantes, which documents France as its home market.

Check scraping rules yourself: respect each site's terms and avoid personal data unless GDPR, supervised in France by the CNIL, or US state privacy laws give you a legal basis. ScrapingBee acts as processor, its DPA applies once an account is activated, and Standard Contractual Clauses cover US sub-processors. Request logs are kept for 14 days without response content. Estimate credit use early, because rendering, premium proxies and AI extraction raise the cost per request.
