What is Viz.ai?

Viz.ai is a care coordination platform for hospitals and health systems. It analyzes CT scans, EKGs, echocardiograms and other data with FDA-cleared algorithms, flags suspected disease and alerts the responsible specialists on mobile and desktop devices.

Viz.ai One bundles clinical suites for neurology, cardiology, vascular medicine, radiology, trauma and pulmonary care, with oncology in a pilot program. Algorithms screen incoming images, send findings to care teams through a mobile and desktop app, return processed images to PACS and connect to the EHR. Viz Connect coordinates follow-up across specialties, and Viz Assist adds generative AI for chart preparation and documentation.

The vendor states that the platform includes more than 50 FDA-cleared algorithms and processes patient data in about 2,000 hospitals and health systems in the US and Europe. Viz.ai, Inc. is based in San Francisco and has group companies in the Netherlands, the UK and Israel.

Viz.ai AI features and use cases

  • Detects suspected large vessel occlusionsViz LVO reviews CT angiography scans for suspected large vessel occlusions and triages positive cases. The alert reaches the stroke team on their phones, so specialists can review the images from anywhere and decide on treatment or transfer sooner.
  • Flags and measures brain bleedsViz ICH checks head CT scans for suspected intracranial hemorrhage, including subdural hematoma, and reports volume, thickness and midline shift. The vendor reports an FDA 510(k) clearance for the subdural measurements. Neurosurgery teams get consistent measurements without calculating them by hand.
  • Maps brain perfusionViz CTP analyzes CT perfusion images of the brain and produces quantified, color-coded perfusion maps. The vendor states that AI-based motion correction reduces motion artifact errors. Stroke teams get a standardized view of the affected tissue to support treatment decisions.
  • Prepares charts and drafts notesViz Assist uses generative AI to summarize EHR, imaging and ambient data before clinic visits. Its ambient listening drafts clinic notes, patient letters and referral notes from recorded conversations and suggests ICD-10 and CPT codes, so clinicians spend less time searching records and typing.

What sets Viz.ai apart

  • Covers several specialties in one platform, from stroke and aneurysm to cardiomyopathy, aortic disease and pulmonary embolism, with shared alerting and team communication.
  • The trust center lists SOC 2 Type II, ISO/IEC 27001, ISO/IEC 27701 and ISO/IEC 42001 for AI management, with audit documents in a separate trust portal.
  • Connects to PACS worklists and the EHR through standard protocols and gives care teams mobile and desktop access.

Questions to ask before you buy Viz.ai

Confirm which Viz.ai modules are FDA-cleared for your intended use; a CE mark for individual modules was not listed on the website when we checked in September 2026. Ask for a HIPAA business associate agreement and the hosting region, since the trust page names Amazon as infrastructure without regions. Viz Assist records clinician and patient conversations, so set consent and retention rules. Pricing is only available through sales.
