Kyriba vs Trovata (October 2026): an independent treasury software comparison

Updated · 11 min · by
Key takeaways
  • Verdict: Trovata fits US-centered companies that first need clean multi-bank cash data, forecasting and payments at a published price. Kyriba fits global groups that need a full treasury system with risk management, broad bank connectivity and a SOC 1 report.
  • Where Kyriba leads: Connectivity to more than 10,000 banks, FX, debt and interest rate risk modules, a trust center with ISO 27001, SOC 1, SOC 2, SOC 3 Type II and TISAX, and TAI, sold in North America and Europe since October 2025.
  • Where Trovata leads: A published base price of $24,000 per year with Trovata AI and forecasting included, a public data processing addendum and subprocessor list, and SAML single sign-on.
  • The number that decides: $24,000 a year buys Trovata's base package with 1 bank connection, 100 accounts and 10 users. Kyriba publishes no price, so any comparison needs a quote for the same scope.
  • Check before choosing: Trovata keeps customer data in the United States only. European entities should check that against their GDPR transfer rules. For Kyriba, the hosting region is not named publicly.

Kyriba and Trovata are both treasury platforms from Southern California, and both pull bank data into one place so that a finance team can see and forecast cash. Kyriba has sold enterprise treasury software for years. Trovata started as a cash visibility tool built on bank connections and added a full treasury management system (TMS, the software that also handles debt, derivatives and bank accounts) when it bought ATOM in July 2025.

We compared them on October 1, 2026, from both vendors' pricing, product, security and legal pages, American Banker, a General Atlantic press release, a NEUgroup article and a procurement platform's price guide. ai-toolfinder is independent; neither company pays us. Both sit in our treasury and cash management category, where 33 of 52 tools publish no price. Trovata is one of the exceptions. If you already know a mid-market alternative, our comparison Agicap vs Kyriba covers the smaller end of that market.

Kyriba or Trovata: the verdict

Kyriba

Pick Kyriba if your treasury spans many countries and banks, you hedge currency or interest rate exposure, you need supplier or receivables financing, or your auditors ask for a SOC 1 Type II report. Expect a quote process and a real implementation project.

Trovata

Pick Trovata if your banks and entities are mostly in the United States, you want cash visibility, forecasting and payments running quickly at a published price, and you use NetSuite or FloQast. Check US-only hosting first if you have EU entities.

Pricing: Trovata prints a number, Kyriba sells by quote

Trovata is one of the few treasury vendors with a public price. Its pricing page lists a base package at $24,000 per year (as of October 2026) with 1 bank connection, 100 accounts, 1,000,000 transactions and 10 users. Balances, transaction tags, forecasts, cash positioning, reconciliation, payments, entity management, Trovata AI and standard support are in that price. So are 3 to 5 hours of live training and in-app tech support.

More users, bank connections, accounts or transactions are quoted by sales. The same is true for professional services such as extra training, a dedicated Slack channel and custom configuration, and for Trovata TMS. Trovata says it gives discounts for multi-year contracts. The page does not state a contract length, a free trial, implementation fees or a TMS price.

Kyriba publishes no prices. Its site offers a liquidity calculator and a business value advisory instead. The only numbers we found come from a third party. Vendr, a procurement platform, lists estimates for mid-market core treasury deployments of $50,000 to $150,000 per year plus a similar amount for implementation, and names cost drivers such as SWIFT connectivity, ERP integrations, data migration and support fees. Treat these as rough orientation. Kyriba has not confirmed them and we could not check how Vendr built them.

A published entry price helps a CFO get a budget line approved before talking to sales. For a group comparing full treasury systems it matters less, because the real cost sits in bank connections, modules and implementation. Ask both vendors to price the same scope in writing, including renewal terms, since neither publishes them.

Scope: Kyriba is the broader suite, Trovata's TMS is new

Kyriba covers cash management, payments, bank and ERP connectivity, risk management for FX, debt, investments and interest rates, and supplier and receivables financing. General Atlantic said in October 2024 that Kyriba had close to 3,000 customers in 170 countries, managed more than 3 billion bank transactions a year and was valued at over $3 billion in that deal. These are investor-announced figures, now a year old.

Trovata built its business on normalized bank data and added the TMS later. On July 24, 2025, it announced the purchase of ATOM from Financial Sciences Corporation and plans to brand it Trovata TMS. ATOM covers debt and investment instruments, intercompany transactions, in-house bank support, credit facilities, FX hedging, payment workflows, bank fee analysis and bank account management. The company also raised $9 million from State Street and PNC, bringing total funding to $80 million.

American Banker reported that the integration happens in two stages: first grafting ATOM onto the platform, then a complete redesign. That is the main caveat for buyers. The TMS is newer inside Trovata than its cash product, and the redesign was still ahead at the time of that report. If debt, derivatives and in-house banking are central to your treasury, ask for references that run Trovata TMS in production.

Kyriba's weak side is size and effort. Review sites such as G2 block automated access, so we did not read user reviews and do not quote them. What we can say is that Vendr lists implementation fees in the same range as the first year's subscription for mid-market deployments.

AI: Kyriba TAI executes under approval, Trovata AI 2.0 adds agents

Kyriba showed TAI, its agentic AI for treasury, as a prototype at KyribaLive in May 2025. NEUgroup reports a commercial launch in October 2025 after a co-innovation phase with corporate treasury teams, now 11 companies. Kyriba's launch post says it is available for purchase in North America and Europe, with other regions to follow. TAI answers questions in plain language, analyzes variances, generates reports and orchestrates actions such as money market investments. The vendor states that sensitive actions need explicit approval, that roles and permissions apply, and that no customer data is used to train public models.

TAI Skills are reusable instructions that teach TAI a specific task, written by treasury staff in plain English. Kyriba's examples include flagging unclassified cash flows and auditing working capital finance setups. The Skills article gives no launch date or availability status, so confirm in a demo that Skills are in your contract. In April 2026 Kyriba added Morgan Money from J.P. Morgan Asset Management and Circle's USDC payments, which its press release lists as available now.

Trovata announced Trovata AI 2.0 in March 2026. It has three parts: AI Chat for plain language questions, AI Insights that explain what changed across cash, liquidity and risk, and AI Agents that run on schedules, triggers or rules. Chat and forecasting are part of the base package. The product page does not say whether agents are included in the $24,000 or priced separately, and it names no approval rules or access controls. Trovata's own blog calls fully agentic treasury not yet mainstream, so ask for a live demo of agents on your data.

The practical difference is control. A team that wants AI to prepare investment or funding decisions inside a documented approval chain will find Kyriba's model better described. A team that mainly wants answers about balances and automated tagging gets that from Trovata at a lower entry cost.

Banks, ERP and payments: breadth against speed

Kyriba states connectivity to more than 10,000 banks and says it manages 28 percent of Swift corporate BICs, the codes that identify banks and companies on the Swift network. It lists Swift services, an open API platform, direct bank file connections and more than 73,000 prebuilt payment format scenarios. Its pages name pre-built connectors for SAP, Oracle Cloud, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Workday. We did not find EBICS named on the connectivity page itself, so German treasurers who rely on it should ask.

Trovata connects through bank APIs and normalizes the data. American Banker names direct APIs with JPMorgan Chase and Wells Fargo. In October 2024 Trovata announced access to Swift's community of more than 11,500 banks, institutions and corporates through Swift Alliance Cloud. Its payments run over RTP, ACH and wire, which are United States rails. We found no statement about SEPA payments or EBICS on its pages.

On ERPs, the pricing page lists NetSuite and FloQast with the base package. SAP S/4HANA, BlackLine and custom AP and AR integrations appear in an add-on section. The page is not fully clear on where one list ends and the other begins, so get the connector list confirmed in the quote.

Both vendors offer open interfaces for your own systems: Trovata's base package includes a developer portal, and Kyriba runs an open API platform with a sandbox. Neither page documents a bulk export format for leaving the platform.

Country fit: Trovata is a US product, Kyriba serves groups worldwide

Trovata's security page states that customer data never leaves the United States and runs on AWS. Its subprocessor list, updated August 2026, shows US-based providers for hosting, login, analytics and support. It also names a Swiss SWIFT service provider, and Trovata affiliates in the United States, Australia and Moldova for support, maintenance and DevOps. For a German or Swiss subsidiary this means personal data of employees and bank contacts flows to the US.

Trovata's data processing addendum covers this. It uses the EU Standard Contractual Clauses (modules two and three), a UK addendum, Irish law for GDPR matters, a 10 business day objection window for new subprocessors, and deletion or return of personal data at the end of the contract. It also says annual SOC 2 Type II reports are provided. The security page itself only shows an AICPA SOC badge, and no ISO certificate is named. Single sign-on works over SAML 2.0.

Kyriba lists offices in New York, London, Paris, Frankfurt, Milan, Warsaw, Singapore, Tokyo and Shanghai. Its Frankfurt entry is a c/o address at a corporate service provider, so do not read it as a German team. Kyriba states GDPR compliance, a Data Privacy Framework certification, TISAX and SOC 1, 2 and 3 Type II reports. It names hosting only as AWS, globally, so a European buyer should fix the region in the contract. The General Court of the EU upheld the Data Privacy Framework on September 3, 2025.

Across our category, 7 of 52 tools state that they can host data in the EU, and 26 list a SOC 2 report. Neither Kyriba nor Trovata is counted among the EU hosts in our data. On the EU AI Act, Annex III lists high-risk uses such as creditworthiness scoring of natural persons and employee evaluation. Corporate cash forecasting is not on that list, but check your own use. If staff activity logs can show individual behavior, a works council has co-determination under § 87 Abs. 1 Nr. 6 BetrVG.

Weak points of each tool, and what to ask before you sign

Trovata's weak points are the ones the vendor states itself: US-only hosting, an unnamed SOC type on the security page, no ISO certificate, US payment rails, and a TMS that is still being merged into the platform. Its home page names customers such as Block, Etsy, Sonos and Bosch, and independent coverage we found is thinner than for Kyriba.

Kyriba's weak points are the missing price, an unnamed hosting region, and the effort of a full implementation. Third-party estimates put implementation and ERP integration costs on top of the subscription. Kyriba's Skills have no stated availability. In the October 2024 deal, the private equity firm Bridgepoint stayed majority shareholder, which matters little for daily use but may for long contracts.

Before signing with either, ask for: the exact scope and renewal terms in writing, the list of connected banks in your countries, the ERP connector and its price, the current SOC report (SOC 1 for Kyriba, the Type II report for Trovata), the data region and the subprocessor list, the exit terms for data return, and a pilot of the AI features on your own data.

Who should pick Kyriba and who Trovata

Pick Kyriba if
  • Your treasury covers subsidiaries on several continents with many local banks.
  • You hedge currency or interest rate risk and want it in the treasury system.
  • You need supplier or receivables financing next to cash and payments.
  • Your auditors ask for a SOC 1 Type II report or your customers for TISAX.
  • You want AI that acts under documented approval rules, and can budget for an implementation project.
Pick Trovata if
  • Your banks and entities are mainly in the United States.
  • You want a published entry price to get budget approval quickly.
  • You run NetSuite or FloQast and want those connectors with the base package.
  • You mainly need daily cash visibility, tagging and forecasting rather than a full TMS.
  • Your data protection team accepts US-only hosting under Standard Contractual Clauses.

Kyriba vs Trovata: frequently asked questions

How much does Trovata cost compared with Kyriba?

Trovata's base package costs $24,000 per year (as of October 2026), including 1 bank connection, 100 accounts, 10 users, forecasting and Trovata AI. Kyriba does not publish prices. A third-party estimate for mid-market deployments is $50,000 to $150,000 per year plus implementation, which Kyriba has not confirmed.

Can Trovata store data in the EU?

No. Its security page says customer data never leaves the United States. European entities need to cover this transfer with the Standard Contractual Clauses in Trovata's data processing addendum and their own GDPR records.

Does Trovata offer a full treasury management system?

Yes, Trovata TMS, based on the ATOM system it acquired in July 2025. It covers debt, investments, intercompany transactions, FX hedging and payment workflows. American Banker reported that a complete redesign was planned after the first integration stage. Pricing is on request.

What is the difference between Kyriba TAI and Trovata AI?

Both answer questions about treasury data. Kyriba TAI also runs reusable Skills and orchestrates actions such as money market investments under human approval. Trovata AI 2.0 adds insights and agents that run on schedules, triggers or rules. Approval controls are documented for TAI, not for Trovata's agents.

The bottom line

Choose by footprint. A company whose cash sits mostly in US banks and that wants visibility and forecasting at a known price should look at Trovata first. A group that manages cash, risk and financing across continents, needs a SOC 1 report, or must place its data outside the United States needs Kyriba's scope and should negotiate the hosting region.
