Asana app in ChatGPT overview and key facts (October 2026)

The Asana app in ChatGPT connects ChatGPT to an Asana workspace. Teams turn ideas and brainstorms from a chat into projects, tasks and follow-ups in Asana and check or update work status without switching tools.

Asana made the app and lists it among its AI connectors. Users confirm access to both ChatGPT and an Asana workspace, connect Asana from ChatGPT's app directory, select the workspace and allow access. After that, mentioning Asana in a conversation lets ChatGPT create projects, assign tasks, check status or open work in Asana. Admins may need to approve the connection first.

• Assigns and updates tasksTasks can be delegated, assigned and updated from the chat. Small changes happen where the conversation already takes place.

Asana is headquartered in San Francisco.

Check whether your Asana admins must approve the connection and which workspace it may access. Review your ChatGPT workspace policy on connected apps and data training. Status summaries about individual employees' tasks can count as performance monitoring in some jurisdictions, so agree on how they are used.
