What is Composio?

Composio is a platform that sits between AI assistants or agents and business apps. It supplies toolkits for more than 1,500 apps, handles logins and exposes everything through SDKs, a CLI and a managed MCP endpoint that Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor can use.

Composio offers toolkits for apps such as Gmail, Slack, Notion, GitHub and Salesforce, plus OAuth management, triggers and sessions that group tools for an agent. Developers use Python and TypeScript SDKs and a REST API, and a hosted MCP server URL works with Claude, ChatGPT and other clients. Plugins exist for ChatGPT, Codex, Claude Code and Cursor. The Enterprise plan adds SSO, SCIM and customer-managed keys. The company trades as Sampark Inc, was founded in 2023 according to a press report, and suits teams with a developer, while office staff can connect apps themselves.

Composio AI features and use cases

  • Connects an assistant to work appsAn MCP client such as Claude or ChatGPT is pointed at the Composio MCP server and then calls actions in apps like Gmail, Slack, Notion or Calendar. After a one-time connection, staff get an assistant that reads and writes in the tools they already use.
  • Finds the right action at runtimeSessions handle tool discovery, so an agent searches the 1,500+ toolkits for a matching action and does not need every tool definition up front. The vendor presents this as a way to avoid context bloat, and developers keep prompts smaller.
  • Handles logins for agent actionsComposio manages OAuth consent, token storage, refresh and scopes for each connected account, and tokens are redacted from API responses by default. Teams do not have to build a separate login flow for every app an agent touches.
  • Starts agents from app eventsTriggers deliver events from connected apps to a webhook, billed per delivered event. An agent can react to an event in a connected app without polling, so routine follow-up work starts without a person opening the tool.

What sets Composio apart

  • Works as a layer between agents and apps: one managed MCP endpoint covers 1,500+ toolkits rather than one server per app.
  • Plugins for ChatGPT, Codex, Claude Code and Cursor, a CLI, and SDKs for Python and TypeScript.
  • Usage-based pricing with a free tier of 100,000 tool calls per month, and add-ons such as IP allowlist or branded connection pages priced per use.
  • The Enterprise plan includes SSO, SCIM, customer-managed keys and an MSA, DPA and BAA.

Where Composio is strongest

Composio operates as Sampark Inc, and its Terms are governed by Delaware law. An independent press report from July 2025 places the company in San Francisco and Bengaluru, which documents the United States as its home market.

Questions to ask before you buy Composio

Agents act with the permissions of connected accounts, so scope them narrowly and review write actions. Composio acts as processor, its DPA is accepted online on Pro and Enterprise, and it includes Standard Contractual Clauses for EU data. The pricing page and documentation do not state hosting regions, so ask where connected-account data is stored. US state privacy laws and, for health data, HIPAA with a BAA remain the buyer's task.
