DeepJudge AI features, pricing and GDPR (October 2026)
AI search and workflows for law firms and legal teams from Zurich that make in-house knowledge findable across sources.
What is DeepJudge?
DeepJudge is an AI search and workflow platform for law firms and in-house legal teams. It indexes knowledge across document management systems, intranets and email, and lets lawyers search it, ask questions across documents and build AI workflows.
DeepJudge AG is based in Zurich and sells two modules, Knowledge Search and AI Workflows. Knowledge Search finds documents, matters, clients and people across connected sources, such as SharePoint, OneDrive, HighQ and email. Data stays in the source systems, and access permissions and ethical walls carry over. AI Workflows lets teams build multi-step agents on firm data with a choice of commercial or open-source models. Hosting is possible in the vendor cloud, a customer cloud or on premises. Named customers include Freshfields, Greenberg Traurig, Homburger and CMS Switzerland.
DeepJudge AI features and use cases
- Searches firm knowledge by intentThe search combines data about clients, matters, documents and people across sources and matches intent rather than exact keywords. Lawyers find precedents and earlier work without knowing where it was filed, which cuts time spent digging through folders and systems.
- Finds opposing positions in past agreementsNegotiation Intelligence searches earlier agreements for the positions that opposing counsel took. Negotiators see how a counterparty behaved in previous deals and can prepare their own stance with that history at hand.
- Answers questions across a folder of documentsMulti-Document Chat answers questions over a set of documents in a folder. Reviewers get a consolidated answer with the underlying files instead of opening each document, which helps in due diligence and matter preparation.
- Summarizes matters and clientsThe Matter and Client Overview builds event timelines and summaries from the connected data. Partners and associates get up to speed on a matter or client quickly, for example before a call or when staffing changes.
- Automates multi-step tasks with agentsAI Workflows runs agents that work through several steps on firm data and works with the model the firm chooses. Teams turn recurring tasks into repeatable processes while access permissions from the source systems still apply.
What sets DeepJudge apart
- Data stays in the source systems, and permissions and ethical walls from those systems carry over.
- The architecture is model-agnostic, with commercial or open-source models and hosting in the vendor cloud, a customer cloud or on premises.
- The security page lists SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001, and states that DeepJudge does not train on customer data.
Where DeepJudge is strongest
DeepJudge AG is headquartered in Zurich and its customer page names Swiss firms such as Homburger, Lenz & Staehelin and CMS Switzerland as well as US firms such as Greenberg Traurig and Cozen O'Connor.
Questions to ask before you buy DeepJudge
Ask which model and which hosting region your deployment will use, because the vendor lets customers choose and lists no fixed regions. Check the data protection terms under the Swiss FADP and GDPR, as the privacy policy mentions both and the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. Test how ethical-wall rules from your document system map into search results, since confidentiality between matters is central for law firms.
Using DeepJudge in the EU: GDPR and AI Act
- Data locationMultiple regions (according to the vendor). No EU option stated: ask where data is stored and which transfer safeguards apply (standard contractual clauses or the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework).
- Data processing agreementNot published by the vendor: ask for one (Art. 28 GDPR).
- EU AI ActCheck whether the AI prepares decisions about people. If not, the high-risk rules usually do not apply. The high-risk obligations apply from December 2, 2027 (Digital Omnibus).
