ElevenLabs AI features, pricing and GDPR (October 2026)

ElevenLabs is a voice AI platform that turns text into speech, clones voices, transcribes recordings and dubs audio and video. It serves individual creators through to enterprises, both in a web app and through developer APIs.

The platform bundles several audio products: text to speech, voice cloning, Scribe speech to text, dubbing, music generation and voice agents for customer conversations. Marketing and content teams use the web app to produce voiceovers, while product teams call the same models through the API.

Plans run from a free tier to Enterprise and are billed in monthly credits. The vendor lists companies such as Twilio, Cisco and Klarna among its customers. For EU, UK and Swiss users the privacy policy names a Polish entity in Warsaw as controller.

• Produces voiceovers from scriptsThe text to speech models read out scripts, articles or product copy in more than 70 languages, according to the vendor. Content teams get narration for videos, e-learning or audio articles without booking a studio, and can regenerate a line when the copy changes.
• Clones a consented voiceInstant Voice Cloning builds a voice from one to five minutes of clean audio, and Professional Voice Cloning uses 30 minutes or more. Brands can keep a consistent spokesperson voice across campaigns, provided the speaker has agreed and passes the required verification.
• Transcribes meetings and mediaScribe converts recordings into text in more than 90 languages, labels each speaker, adds word-level timestamps and tags sounds such as laughter. A realtime variant serves live applications. Communication teams get searchable transcripts and caption drafts from interviews and webinars.
• Dubs content into other languagesThe dubbing feature translates the speech in a video or audio file and re-voices it in the target language. Marketing teams can reuse existing videos for other markets instead of recording each language version separately.

• Enterprise customers can request isolated data residency environments in the EU, India or Singapore; the default storage location is the US.
• Commercial use and Instant Voice Cloning start with the Starter plan; the free tier excludes a commercial license.

The contracting entity for customers outside the EU, the UK and Switzerland is Eleven Labs Inc., based in New York.

Customer data is stored in the US by default, and EU, India or Singapore residency is limited to Enterprise contracts. Cloning another person's voice requires that person's explicit consent; the vendor requires technical verification for Professional Voice Cloning, blocks high-risk voices and publishes an AI speech classifier. Credits are consumed by usage, so estimate monthly volumes before choosing a plan. Healthcare use needs a Business Associate Agreement under HIPAA.
