What is EvenUp?
EvenUp is an AI platform for US personal injury law firms. It drafts demand letters and legal documents, summarizes medical records, supports negotiation and litigation, and runs voice and text agents for routine calls with insurers and clients.
The Claims Intelligence Platform covers pre-litigation and litigation: demand letters with optional professional review, medical chronologies, an AI assistant called Companion, a Word add-in for drafting, communication agents, settlement data and firm analytics. Case data syncs from case management systems such as Litify, SmartAdvocate and CASEpeer and from SharePoint, Google Drive or Dropbox.
EvenUp, Inc. is based in San Francisco with a second office in Toronto and has raised $385 million. It reports more than 2,000 US personal injury firms as customers. The service fits firms of any size that handle injury claims; PLAAS, a managed pre-litigation service, adds case managers for firms without spare staff.
EvenUp AI features and use cases
- Drafts demand lettersEvenUp's Piai models read case files and medical records and produce demand letters with liability narratives, damages, pain and suffering analysis and comparable verdicts. Firms can choose versions reviewed by legal professionals, which shortens the path from case to demand.
- Builds medical chronologiesMedChrons turns thousands of pages of medical records into a searchable, color-coded treatment timeline with diagnoses, ICD codes and prior history. Each entry links to the source page, so attorneys can verify facts before negotiation, mediation or trial.
- Answers case questions and delegates workCompanion works across a firm's cases, summarizes files at intake, flags treatment gaps and identifies demand-ready cases. It can hand tasks to agents and pull cited research from Lexis+ with Protégé, so staff get answers without digging through the file.
- Drafts pleadings and discovery responsesAI Drafts generates complaints, discovery responses and negotiation summaries in Microsoft Word from case facts, following the firm's own sample documents and objection logic. Drafts come with cited references, which makes attorney review faster.
- Handles routine calls and textsCommunication Agents use voice and SMS to open insurance claims, confirm coverage, chase medical records, verify balances and check in with clients in English or Spanish. Case staff spend less time on hold and can focus on clients and strategy.

Questions to ask before you buy EvenUp

Medical records are protected health information, so request a Business Associate Agreement under HIPAA. Check your state bar rules and court orders on disclosing AI use. The trust center shares its SOC 2 Type 2 report on request.
