Grok 4.7 is the recommended frontier model of the Grok family in its developer API, built for coding, agentic tasks and knowledge work, with configurable reasoning and a 500,000-token context.
Grok 4.7 accepts text and images and returns text. Reasoning is supported at low, medium, high and xhigh, with high as default. The model has a 500,000-token context, supports function calling and structured outputs, and runs in three US regions with rate limits of 150 requests per second. The documentation names SpaceXAI as the developer; xAI announced on February 2, 2026 that SpaceX had acquired it. Older versions such as Grok 4.3 offer a one-million-token context at lower prices.
