What is Jedox?

Jedox is planning and performance management software from Freiburg, Germany, used for budgeting, forecasting and reporting in Excel, web and mobile. JedoxAI adds explainable forecasts for revenue and cash flow.

Jedox supports financial planning and analysis, cash flow, revenue, workforce and integrated business planning on an in-memory database. Users work in Microsoft Excel, Jedox Web or the mobile app, with Full User, Planner and Viewer roles. Jedox has offices in Germany, France, the US, the UK, Australia, Singapore and the UAE, and Insight Partners took a majority stake in 2021. The cloud runs on Microsoft Azure with a choice of region.

Jedox AI features and use cases

  • Forecasts revenue and cash flowThe JedoxAI Planning Wizards analyze revenue and cash flow in the context of departments, drivers and scenarios and produce forecasts inside the planning model. Controllers get a starting forecast without building statistical models themselves.
  • Explains the drivers behind a forecastJedoxAI is described as delivering explainable forecasts that show which patterns and drivers shape a result, based on historical and current data. Finance teams can justify a forecast to management instead of presenting a black box number.
  • Predicts customer churnJedoxAI can predict customer churn from historical and current data and feed that view into revenue planning. Sales and finance see earlier which customers and revenue are at risk and can plan countermeasures in time.
  • Connects external AI agentsJedox MCP gives AI tools and agents governed access to Jedox data and its business context, such as dimensions and drivers. Teams can use the assistant of their choice on current planning data without exporting spreadsheets first.

What sets Jedox apart

  • Works inside Microsoft Excel as well as in the browser and on mobile, which suits finance teams that want to keep Excel as their front end.
  • German vendor with headquarters in Freiburg and a cloud on Microsoft Azure with a selectable region.
  • Priced per named user with separate Planner and Viewer roles, so occasional contributors can be licensed at a lower level.
