jina-embeddings-v5-text is the fifth generation of multilingual embedding models from Jina AI in Berlin, now part of Elastic, offered in a small and a nano version for search, matching and classification.
The small model was released on February 18, 2026 with 677 million parameters, is built on Qwen3-0.6B-Base and produces 1,024-dimensional vectors that can be shortened down to 32 dimensions. It supports retrieval, text matching, clustering and classification with inputs of up to 32,768 tokens. A nano version with 239 million parameters targets constrained environments. The weights are under CC BY-NC 4.0; Elastic offers a hosted version through its inference service.
