Neo4j is a graph database that stores data as nodes and relationships and adds vector search and GraphRAG tools for AI applications. Companies use it for knowledge graphs, fraud detection, recommendations and grounding language models in connected data.

Neo4j offers the managed AuraDB service on AWS, Azure and Google Cloud, Aura Graph Analytics, Aura Agent and a self-managed graph database, all queried with the Cypher language. AuraDB Professional costs from $65 per GB of memory per month, and Business Critical adds SSO, customer-managed keys and private endpoints. The trust center lists ISO/IEC 27001:2022, SOC 2 Type 2, ISO/IEC 27017 and 27018 and a HIPAA report.

Choose the cloud provider and region when creating an AuraDB instance to meet data residency needs. SSO, fine-grained access control and customer-managed keys require Business Critical or higher. Budget by memory size, since prices scale per GB. If a graph holds employee or customer relationships, check the purpose limitation under the GDPR.
