Qwen3-Coder-Next is an open-weight model from Alibaba's Qwen team built for coding agents and local development, combining a large total parameter count with only 3 billion active parameters for low running costs.

The model has 80 billion parameters in total with 3 billion activated, 512 experts of which 10 are active, and a native context of 262,144 tokens. The Qwen team trained it for long-horizon reasoning, complex tool use and recovery from execution failures. It fits common scaffolds and integrates with tools such as Claude Code, Qwen Code, Qoder, Kilo, Trae and Cline. The main model and its FP8 version together had more than 1.6 million downloads in the last month at our check.
