Retool is a platform for building internal tools such as admin panels, dashboards and approval apps on top of company databases and APIs, now with AI agents and AI-assisted app building. It fits teams from small startups to large enterprises with some technical staff.
Retool combines an app builder, workflows, a database and storage, AI agents and a built-in vector database, and runs in the cloud or self-hosted. Prices distinguish builders from internal users; the free plan covers up to 5 users, 500 workflow runs and 20 agent hours a month. Retool Inc. is based in San Francisco. SAML and OpenID Connect SSO, source control and custom branding are Enterprise features. On a self-hosted install, customer data remains on the customer's systems.
