Agicap vs Tidely (October 2026): French finance platform or German planning tool

Updated · 7 min · by
Key takeaways
  • Verdict: Tidely suits German small and midsize firms that want a cash plan with scenarios at a fixed monthly price. Agicap suits midsize companies and groups that also want payments, receivables and a DATEV link that writes back.
  • Where Agicap leads: Two-way DATEV sync, payments over EBICS, SWIFT and host-to-host, an AI assistant that runs cash simulations, and status as an approved e-invoicing platform in France.
  • Where Tidely leads: Public prices from €55 a month, monthly billing, AI categorization and forecasting in every package, hosting in Germany and a downloadable data processing agreement.
  • The number that decides: €140 a month: Tidely Professional plus the DATEV Connector on monthly billing. Agicap publishes no figure to compare, and its UK page states a 12-month minimum.
  • Check before choosing: With Tidely, DATEV sends open items one way into the plan. With Agicap, ask what the quote covers and whether SOC 2 matters to you, since that report is still in progress.

Agicap from Lyon and Tidely from Munich both replace the cash flow spreadsheet of a smaller company with bank feeds, categorized transactions and a forecast. Both are active in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, Agicap through Agicap GmbH in Berlin, so buyers there often shortlist the pair. The overlap ends at the forecast: Agicap has grown into a finance platform with payments and receivables, while Tidely stays a planning tool with a price list.

We checked both vendors on September 28, 2026, using their pricing, integration, security and legal pages, Tidely's data processing agreement, the French tax authority's platform list, TechCrunch, Bayern Kapital and Lexware. Neither company pays ai-toolfinder. Both sit in our treasury and cash management category. Of the 52 tools listed there, only 3 are based in Germany, and Tidely is one of them.

Agicap or Tidely: the verdict

Agicap

Pick Agicap if your finance team wants forecasting, payment runs and receivables in one system, books in DATEV and wants reconciled bank entries written back, or runs French entities that need an approved e-invoicing platform.

Tidely

Pick Tidely if you are a German owner, controller or small finance team that mainly needs a daily cash view and scenarios, wants to know the price before a sales call, and syncs open items from DATEV or Lexware Office.

Pricing: Tidely prints every euro, Agicap starts with a call

Tidely's plans page lists Starter at €55, Professional at €105 and Business at €265 per month with monthly billing. A one-year term cuts that to €45, €85 and €215, a two-year term to €39, €75 and €189. Starter covers 1 bank account, 1 user and 1 company; Business covers 10 accounts, 5 users and 3 companies. Extra bank accounts and companies cost €20 each, the DATEV Connector €35 and an EBICS account €50 per month.

Agicap's German pricing page promises an individual offer for each company and accepts invoice or SEPA direct debit. Its UK pricing page adds that the offer is annual with a minimum 12-month subscription. Both vendors let you test first: Tidely for 7 days after a short demo, Agicap for a few days alongside one of its experts.

A worked example shows the gap in transparency. A company with five bank accounts, two users and bookings in DATEV lands on Tidely Professional plus the connector: €140 per month, or €100 on a two-year term. For the same setup, Agicap's price only appears in the quote. Tidely belongs to a small group here, because only 6 tools in our treasury category use flat-fee pricing.

DATEV and Lexware: Agicap syncs both ways, Tidely pulls open items

For German buyers the accounting link often decides. Agicap's DATEV page lists imports of customer and supplier invoices with due dates, credit notes, orders, payment files, bank accounts, journals and the chart of accounts. In the other direction, reconciled bank journal entries go back to DATEV and clear the matching open items there. Agicap says setup takes a few hours with its integration team.

Tidely's DATEV integration transfers open receivables and payables once they are booked, through a certified DATEV interface partner. It works for companies that book themselves and for those whose tax advisor keeps the books, needs the Professional package or higher, and sees only the open items you release. Nothing flows back into DATEV.

Both connect to Lexware Office, the small business accounting software formerly called lexoffice. On Lexware's partner page, Tidely calls it its largest integration; Tidely requires Professional for it. Agicap's own page describes the same flow of open invoices, and Lexware's Agicap page quotes the company saying data from both Lexware Office and DATEV can be integrated.

Scenarios and AI: similar forecasts, different depth

Tidely includes AI categorization and its Auto Forecast in every package, so even Starter gets a forecast built from categorized history. Scenarios scale with the package: 1 in Starter, 10 in Professional, unlimited from Business. Planning templates cover loans with interest and repayment, values tied to revenue with VAT, and quantity times price for purchasing. All plans include a 24/7 AI chat for support questions. Tidely's about page announces a feature called Chat with your Data for 2026; it does not yet appear on the plans page.

Agicap's AI categorizes transactions from the first bank sync, explains gaps between actual and forecast figures, detects recurring patterns, and flags duplicate payments and documents forged with AI. Its AI Assistant answers questions in plain language and runs simulations, such as whether a large payment in three days leaves enough cash. An AI agent drafts dunning emails in a tone matched to each customer's payment history.

On data use, Agicap's security page states that customer data is not used to train AI models. Tidely's data processing agreement lists no separate AI provider among its subprocessors; ask how the forecast models are hosted if your data protection officer needs it in writing.

Scope and scale: 8,000 customers against a DACH specialist

TechCrunch reported in November 2024 that Agicap had 8,000 customers, about half in France, with average annual revenue of €5 to 10 million and the largest near €500 million, after a €45 million round from AVP. Agicap still cites more than 8,000 companies today. Beyond planning it sells payments, supplier invoice handling, receivables with dunning and e-invoicing, and it consolidates cash across entities. That is also why we compare it with a full treasury suite in Agicap vs Kyriba.

Tidely went live in February 2021. Bayern Kapital, the Bavarian state venture investor, announced a €3.5 million seed round led by TX Ventures in March 2023, when Tidely had about 500 customers. Today its home page says more than 2,000 companies and its about page says more than 1,500, most of them in the DACH region. For 2026 it names white label partnerships with Edeka Bank and Corporate Planner.

The practical difference is headcount in finance. Tidely is built for an owner or a single controller who wants to see liquidity daily without a project. Agicap assumes a team that also approves payments and chases receivables.

Country fit: Belgium or Germany for the data, France for e-invoicing

Both keep data in the EU, which puts them among only 7 tools in our treasury category with EU hosting. Agicap hosts on Google Cloud in Belgium, has held ISO 27001:2022 since 2024 and describes its data processing agreement on its security page without offering a download. Its trust center lists a SOC 2 Type 2 report as in progress. We found no public statement on single sign-on.

Tidely says it is developed and hosted in Germany. Its public data processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR names AWS as host with geo-redundant backups in Ireland, and bank access providers finAPI and BANKSapi in Munich. Tidely received ISO 27001 certification in 2025. Single sign-on is reserved for Enterprise.

France adds a rule where Agicap is strongest. From September 1, 2026, French companies must send and receive e-invoices through an approved platform, and Agicap appears on the tax authority's list of approved platforms. For a German group with a French subsidiary, that can settle the choice. For a company active only in Germany, Tidely's German hosting and a data processing agreement under German law are the closer fit.

Who should pick Agicap and who Tidely

Pick Agicap if
  • You want payment runs with approvals, receivables and dunning in the same tool as the forecast.
  • You book in DATEV and want reconciled bank entries to clear open items there automatically.
  • You run several entities or a French subsidiary that needs an approved e-invoicing platform.
  • You want to ask questions of your cash data in plain language and run what-if simulations.
Pick Tidely if
  • You need a price you can approve today: €55 to €265 a month, with monthly billing.
  • Your tax advisor keeps the books in DATEV and you only need open items in the cash plan.
  • You use Lexware Office, sevDesk or another small business tool and want a light setup.
  • Your data protection review asks for hosting in Germany and a public data processing agreement.
  • You compare scenarios such as a new hire or a loan and do not need payments in the tool.

Agicap vs Tidely: frequently asked questions

Is Tidely cheaper than Agicap?

Tidely publishes €55, €105 and €265 per month on monthly billing, less on one or two year terms. Agicap quotes each customer individually and publishes no figure, so a direct comparison needs an Agicap offer for the same bank accounts, users and connectors.

Which tool has the better DATEV integration?

Agicap's link runs both ways: it imports invoices and journals from DATEV and exports reconciled bank entries that clear open items. Tidely imports open receivables and payables only, as a €35 monthly add-on from the Professional package.

Where do Agicap and Tidely store data?

Agicap hosts on Google Cloud in Belgium. Tidely states that it is hosted in Germany, and its data processing agreement names AWS with backups in Ireland.

Can Agicap or Tidely execute payments?

Agicap runs payments through bank protocols such as EBICS, SWIFT and host-to-host, with approval workflows. Tidely's plans page lists planning, reporting and open item features but no payment runs.

The bottom line

Start from what the tool must do on a Monday morning. If the answer is to show cash, compare scenarios and pull open items from DATEV or Lexware, Tidely does it at a price you can read today, from €55 a month. If the tool must also send payments, chase receivables and write back to DATEV, or serve a French entity under the e-invoicing rules, ask Agicap for a quote and plan for a 12-month contract.
