What is fobizz?
fobizz is a German platform for schools that combines AI tools for teachers, AI assistants that students can use in class and online professional development courses, sold to individual teachers, schools and state education authorities.
fobizz is run by 101skills GmbH in Hamburg. Besides the AI tools, the platform offers a teaching board, shareable worksheets, pinboards, surveys, a collaborative text editor, recorders and file sharing. Students join through class rooms with individual access codes and automatic data deletion options. Schools and school authorities act as data controllers, and fobizz processes student data on their behalf under Art. 28 GDPR. Several German states have signed state-wide licenses. The product is aimed at schools; companies with their own vocational training can also use it for trainees.

- Sets up AI tutors for a classTeachers create their own AI assistants, add background knowledge and didactic guidance and adapt them to the level of their students. Students get one-to-one support during practice while the teacher decides what the assistant knows and how it answers.
- Creates worksheetsThe AI worksheet assistant produces tailored worksheets with feedback for students. Teachers save preparation time and can offer different versions for different learning levels.
- Supports lesson planningAI chat, PDF chat and the prompt lab help with lesson ideas, teaching strategies and questions about documents. Teachers get suggestions they can adapt instead of searching many sources.

Questions to ask before you buy fobizz
The school or school authority is the data controller, so it needs to sign the data processing agreement that is part of the terms and review the subprocessor list attached to it. Decide whether to enable transcription and handwriting recognition, since these send student data to an AI provider. Teachers should review AI answers before using them for grading.
