What is Grammarly?
Grammarly is an AI writing assistant that checks and improves English text in the apps where people write, adds generative AI for drafting and rewriting, and gives companies style guides and brand tones. It serves individuals as well as large organizations.
Grammarly corrects spelling and grammar, shows tone and, in Pro, rewrites sentences, detects AI-generated text and plagiarism and supports user groups, a style guide and a brand tone. Enterprise adds unlimited AI prompts, SAML SSO, SCIM, data loss prevention and customer-managed encryption keys. Grammarly says it is used by more than 40 million people and 50,000 organizations. Since October 2025 the company is called Superhuman, based in San Francisco. Data is hosted in AWS data centers in the US East region.

Questions to ask before you buy Grammarly
All text is processed in AWS US East, so review transfer terms and the data processing agreement before rolling Grammarly out to EU employees. Grammarly focuses on English; for other languages check coverage first. Decide whether AI detection results may be used in decisions about people, since detectors can be wrong.
