ChatGPT is OpenAI's general AI assistant for writing, research, analysis and everyday office work, available as a free app for individuals and as a managed workspace for teams and companies.

ChatGPT combines chat, projects that group related conversations and files, web search, image input and generation, data analysis, scheduled tasks and plugins and skills that connect it to other tools. The Business plan adds a shared workspace with admin controls, SAML single sign-on and multi-factor authentication, and Enterprise adds SCIM, audit logs, data residency controls and an analytics API. OpenAI is based in San Francisco.

• Free plan with GPT-6 Luna and paid tiers from $8 per month, so small firms can start without a sales process.
• Business plan from 2 users includes SAML SSO and no training on business data by default, according to OpenAI.

Decide which plan employees may use: free and individual plans lack the workspace controls of Business and Enterprise. Sign OpenAI's data processing addendum, check which plugins and connectors may reach company systems, and note that data residency controls are listed for Enterprise only.
