K8sGPT overview and key facts (October 2026)

K8sGPT is an open source command-line tool and Kubernetes operator that scans clusters for common problems and uses a language model to explain each finding in plain language, for platform, DevOps and SRE teams running Kubernetes.

K8sGPT ships built-in analyzers for pods, persistent volume claims, ReplicaSets, services, events, ingresses, StatefulSets, deployments, jobs, CronJobs, nodes and webhooks, plus optional analyzers for autoscaling, network policies, storage and security. It runs as a CLI or as an operator for continuous monitoring inside the cluster and can cache results in AWS S3, Azure Blob Storage or Google Cloud Storage.
