The Red Hat automation coding assistant, formerly Red Hat Ansible Lightspeed, brings generative AI to Ansible Automation Platform. It turns natural language prompts into Ansible YAML for tasks, playbooks and roles, for automation teams in larger companies.

Ansible Automation Platform is Red Hat's product for automating configuration, provisioning and operations across servers, networks and clouds. The coding assistant works inside the Ansible extension for VS Code and is included in the platform subscription. Customers connect a model provider such as IBM watsonx Code Assistant, Google Gemini on Vertex, Red Hat AI or an OpenAI-compliant service. The separate automation intelligent assistant helps administrators run the platform and is not part of this entry. Red Hat is headquartered in Raleigh and has belonged to IBM since 2019.
