Alaan is an expense management platform from Dubai for companies in the UAE and Saudi Arabia. It combines corporate cards, a business account and invoice payments with AI that verifies receipts, flags duplicates, codes expenses and checks VAT details.

The platform includes SuperCard corporate cards with spend controls, an expense module for card and non-card purchases, a business account, SuperPay for international invoice payments and accounting integrations with Microsoft Dynamics 365, NetSuite and SAP in the Premium plan. Alaan is based in Dubai with an office in Riyadh, employs more than 200 people, raised a $48 million Series A and reports more than 3,000 business customers.

Cards are issued by NymCard Payments Services and the business account by Ruya Community Islamic Bank, both regulated by the Central Bank of the UAE; Alaan states that it is not a bank itself.

• Verifies receiptsAI receipt verification compares each receipt with its transaction and flags duplicates and out-of-policy spend, and the Premium plan adds a receipt collector agent. Approvers see which items need attention, and the finance team spends less time on line-by-line checks before month end.
• Codes expenses for accountingAlaan Intelligence learns from historical data and suggests the matching account in the chart of accounts, and it creates accounting rules that fill in details automatically. Entries sync to systems such as Xero, QuickBooks, NetSuite or Dynamics 365, so month-end posting needs less manual coding.
• Checks VAT detailsA tax invoice compliance checker tests whether receipts meet VAT requirements and validates the supplier's tax registration number (TRN), and Premium includes a VAT savings agent. For companies filing VAT in the UAE, this reduces manual review of receipts and helps avoid missed input tax.
• Suggests approvalsPremium includes AI-driven approval recommendations and Ask Alaan, a chat interface for questions about spend data. Approvers get a suggested decision, which speeds up routine approvals while the final call stays with people.

• AI features cover receipt verification, duplicate detection, accounting coding and VAT checks with supplier TRN validation for the UAE.
• Customer data is hosted on servers in the UAE, and Alaan holds ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification.
• A Starter plan at AED 0 covers up to 10 users; Premium is a flat monthly fee with unlimited users.
