Constructor is a US vendor of ecommerce search and product discovery software for retailers. It combines AI-driven search, recommendations, browse pages and shopping agents that learn from shopper clickstream data.

Constructor offers onsite search and autosuggest, browse pages, recommendations, collections, quizzes, retail media and cross-channel campaigns on one platform. Merchandisers get dashboards, controls and experiments, and there are setups for B2C, B2B, fashion, grocery, furniture and department stores. Constructor was founded in 2015, has more than 400 team members in 40 countries according to its About page and raised a $25 million Series B in June 2024. The company says Gartner named it a Leader in the 2026 Magic Quadrant for Search & Product Discovery. Prices are not published; interested retailers book a demo.

• Personalizes search resultsThe search ranks products with clickstream data, transformers and LLMs to understand intent and natural-language queries. Results adapt to each shopper from the first click in a session. Merchandising teams spend less time on manual synonyms, redirects and boosting rules, according to the vendor.
• Answers shopper questions in conversationThe AI Shopping Agent lets shoppers describe what they need in natural language and returns matching products with an explanation. Retailers can create domain-specific agents using catalog context, and the agent uses sentiment analysis to adjust its answers. Shoppers get help similar to a store associate.
• Enriches product attributesAttribute Enrichment uses GenAI to add and improve product and category attributes. Better attributes make products easier to find through search and filters, and catalog teams avoid tagging thousands of items by hand.
• Explains rankings to merchandisersThe Merchant Intelligence Agent researches what is behind each result and ranking and helps teams fix it. Merchandisers get answers about why products appear or do not appear, without building reports from raw search logs.

• Search and recommendations rely on verified clickstream data collected on the retailer's site, and the vendor reports more than 1,000 A/B tests behind its search and discovery changes.
• Independent audits under SOC 2 Type 2 and ISO 27001; the reports are shared with customers under a nondisclosure agreement.
• Data minimization by design: anonymous IDs, shortened IP addresses and identifiers hashed per website, according to the security page.

The vendor is from the United States: the Series B press release of June 17, 2024 carries a San Francisco dateline, and the company states it works remotely across 40 countries.

Pricing is not public, so request a quote and ask which modules are included. The hosting region is not stated on the pages we checked; ask for regions and the data processing agreement. On customer sites Constructor acts as data processor, so your company stays the controller and must describe the tracking in its own privacy policy. Cross-channel email and SMS campaigns also need valid consent.
