Leapsome AI features, pricing and GDPR (October 2026)

Leapsome is a Berlin-founded HR platform for performance management, engagement, learning and core HR data, used by companies from about 20 to more than 2,000 employees, with AI agents that draft reviews, automate onboarding steps and answer policy questions.

Leapsome is legally based in Berlin as Leapsome GmbH, founded in 2016, and now also presents a New York office as a second hub. The platform covers core HR data such as records, onboarding, absences and payroll preparation, alongside a talent suite for performance reviews, engagement surveys, goals, learning, compensation and one-on-one meetings, plus an early-access recruiting module.

It reports more than 2,000 customer companies, including Spotify, Notion and Porsche, and is built for lean HR teams at organizations from around 20 to more than 2,000 employees rather than for very small businesses with no dedicated HR function.

• Prepares managers for one-to-ones and reviewsThe Development Coach agent draws on an employee's goals, feedback history and growth targets to prepare a manager before a one-on-one or performance review, aiming for more consistent coaching conversations across a team instead of ad hoc preparation.
• Runs onboarding and offboarding as automated workflowsThe PeopleOps Partner agent executes multi-step processes such as onboarding, role changes and offboarding end to end, collecting documents and sign-offs with an audit trail, which reduces manual checklist work for an HR team.
• Answers employee policy questionsThe HR Helpdesk agent answers questions about vacation balances, parental leave or expense policy inside Slack or the app, based on company policies and the person's own record, citing the source, and can act on the answer when asked, with consequential steps requiring human sign-off according to the vendor.
• Compiles workforce data into board-ready reportsThe Data Analyst agent pulls from hiring, performance, engagement, learning and compensation data to answer questions on attrition drivers or program impact and prepares the result as a cited report or dashboard for leadership.

• Offers four pre-built AI agents for coaching, HR process automation, employee helpdesk and workforce analytics, plus the chat assistant Leapy, which the help center still lists as alpha.
• The full interface is available in 16 languages, some with regional variants such as Brazilian Portuguese; custom content such as review questions or surveys can also be translated into further languages, and the vendor cites 38 languages in total.
• German legal entity based in Berlin, customer data stored by default on AWS in Frankfurt, certified to ISO 27001 and SOC 2 Type II; for AI features the subprocessor list also includes processing outside the EU.
• Modular per-user pricing lets a company license individual functions such as reviews, surveys or learning rather than one fixed package.

Leapsome is registered as Leapsome GmbH in Berlin, where it was founded in 2016; in the US it operates Leapsome North America in New York, says it is deliberately expanding there as of 2026 and names numerous US reference customers such as Notion, Workato, DrFirst and the Cleveland Guardians, while German references include Porsche, ABOUT YOU and EGYM.

Before adopting Leapsome, check the per-employee prices for the modules you need and ask sales about multi-module and volume discounts, since contracts run for at least one year, and decide which AI features to enable, because the subprocessor list also allows AI processing outside the EU, for example by OpenAI in the US. Because the AI agents draw on performance and engagement data, German works councils typically hold co-determination rights under Section 87 (1) BetrVG, and using them for performance evaluation falls under the EU AI Act's high-risk category from December 2027.
