Make

Make is a general-purpose, no-code automation platform, not a dedicated HR tool, built around a visual, drag-and-drop scenario editor. It started in Prague in 2012 as Integromat, was later acquired by the process-mining company Celonis, and was rebranded to Make in 2022. Make now describes itself as part of Celonis, run as a separate business unit with a product and engineering team of more than 350 people. Despite its Prague roots and EU data hosting, its strongest documented markets are the US and the UK, not Germany, and it serves businesses from small to large.

On AI, Make lists native connections to OpenAI, Perplexity and DeepSeek, plus more than 400 pre-built AI-related app integrations, and its visual editor supports orchestrating AI agents as part of a scenario. An HTTP module lets a team wire up almost any other API or AI model without code. For HR, this can mean connecting an applicant tracking system to payroll, routing new-hire paperwork through a document generator, or pushing exit-interview responses into a shared database.

Whoever builds these scenarios needs a data processing agreement with Make once employee personal data passes through the platform or its connected AI calls, and the organization should define who may create or edit scenarios touching HR data. Where an automated scenario ends up monitoring or scoring individual employees, that resulting HR process can still trigger works council co-determination under section 87 of the Betriebsverfassungsgesetz, even though Make itself is a generic tool. Make offers a freemium plan and a free trial alongside paid tiers.
