Set up a data processing agreement once employee data passes through n8n or its AI calls, and decide who may build or edit flows touching HR data. Self-hosting gives full control over data location; the managed cloud is faster to start with but hosts outside your own infrastructure. Where an automated flow ends up monitoring or scoring individual employees, German works councils can still gain co-determination rights under Section 87(1) No. 6 BetrVG.
