What is Socure?

Socure is a US platform for identity verification and fraud prevention. Banks, fintechs, government agencies and online businesses use it to verify new customers, score fraud risk and run compliance checks such as watchlist screening in one decision workflow.

The core is RiskOS, a decision engine and orchestration platform with more than 200 pre-integrated data products. Socure's own products run on it: the Sigma fraud models, Email, Phone and Address RiskScore, Graph Intelligence, Predictive DocV for ID documents and selfies, Global Watchlist Screening, Deceased Check, eCBSV for Social Security number checks and bank account verification. With the acquisition of Effectiv, Socure added transaction monitoring, credit underwriting and know-your-business checks.

Socure Launch is a self-serve entry with four prebuilt workflows, while Socure Enterprise adds configurable workflows, case management and dedicated support. The vendor reports more than 3,000 customers, including 18 of the top 20 banks, 13 U.S. states and two federal agencies.

Socure AI features and use cases

  • Scores third-party fraud at onboardingSigma Identity Fraud V4.5 uses a fraud-specific transformer model that evaluates all identity signals together and learns from billions of identity records, with added data on breaches and phone number porting. Fraud teams get a real-time risk score and, according to the vendor, fewer manual reviews.
  • Detects synthetic and first-party fraudSeparate Sigma models target fabricated or manipulated synthetic identities and first-party fraud such as early payment default, bad-faith disputes and chargeback abuse. Credit and risk teams can catch losses that pass a classic identity check.
  • Verifies ID documents and selfiesPredictive DocV checks a government ID scan and a selfie with liveness detection and accepts IDs from more than 195 countries. It flags fake IDs and spoofed selfies, and RiskOS workflows can send only risky users to this extra step.
  • Supports analysts in case reviewThe Case Review Assistant in the RiskOS AI Suite analyzes the scores, signals and past outcomes of a case and suggests approve, escalate, decline or fraud with its reasoning. GenAI Explainability adds plain-language reasons for a score, which helps with audit documentation.
  • Writes rules from plain languageThe Rule Writing Assistant turns natural-language instructions into RiskOS rules that can be tested and deployed, and a change summary explains workflow edits for compliance reporting. Risk teams can adjust strategies without waiting for engineering.

Questions to ask before you buy Socure

Socure stores personal information in the United States, so EU and UK buyers need a transfer basis and a data processing agreement; the privacy policy names an EU representative under Article 27 GDPR. Several products rely on US data sources such as Social Security records, so test coverage for your own markets. Clarify how model scores feed into automated declines and how analysts review those cases.
