Stripe Radar AI features and pricing (October 2026)

Stripe Radar is the fraud prevention layer of Stripe's payment platform. It scores card and other payments, customer accounts and connected accounts in real time and suits merchants, platforms and marketplaces of any size that already process payments with Stripe.

Radar comes in four plans. Lite is included with standard payment pricing and covers basic card fraud, card testing and fraud alerts. Standard adds all payment methods, built-in rules and analytics. Plus adds risk scores, custom rules with backtesting, manual reviews, adaptive 3D Secure and Radar Assistant. Pro adds protection against multi-account, bot and free trial abuse.

Stripe states that its models draw on more than 70 trillion data points from the Stripe network. Radar only works for payments processed through Stripe.

• Scores every payment for fraudRadar evaluates each payment attempt with a machine learning model trained on data from across the Stripe network, including cards seen at other merchants. Payments above the risk threshold are blocked automatically, so small teams get fraud screening without building models or rules first.
• Lets teams tune risk with scores and rulesFrom the Plus plan, each payment gets a risk score from 0 to 99, and teams can write custom rules, backtest them against past payments and send borderline cases to manual review. Adaptive 3D Secure requests authentication only when the risk warrants it.
• Helps write rules and analyze patternsRadar Assistant helps users draft rules in plain language, and agentic insights summarize fraud trends and suggest actions in the dashboard. This helps teams without a dedicated fraud analyst understand what is happening and react faster.
• Detects abuse beyond paymentsThe Pro plan evaluates sign-ups and logins for multi-account and shared-account abuse, bot activity and customers likely to exploit free trials or skip pay-as-you-go invoices. Subscription businesses can stop these customers before costs build up.

• Radar Lite is included at no extra cost with standard Stripe payment pricing, which suits small companies.
• Pay-as-you-go pricing per screened transaction or a monthly subscription, with public prices on Stripe's pricing page.

Stripe is headquartered in San Francisco and Dublin, and Radar is built into Stripe's payment processing.

Radar only protects payments processed by Stripe, so a bank or merchant with several acquirers needs another tool for the rest. Fees per screened transaction add up with volume, including subscription renewals that Radar reviews. Fraud detection is not high-risk under Annex III No. 5 of the EU AI Act, but review rules that decline genuine customers should be monitored.
