What is SpotDraft?
SpotDraft is a contract lifecycle management platform for in-house legal teams. It covers drafting from templates, review and negotiation, approvals, e-signature and a searchable repository, with AI that checks contracts against a team's own playbooks.
SpotDraft was founded in 2017 and lists offices in New York and Bengaluru. The platform has workflows with conditional templates and approvals, a negotiation space for Word, Slack and the web app, a central repository, analytics on renewals and bottlenecks, and native e-signature that meets ESIGN and eIDAS. It also offers clickwrap, legal intake and more than 30 integrations. The vendor includes implementation, contract migration and 24/7 support in every plan. Besides legal, the vendor addresses sales, finance, procurement and HR teams that request or sign contracts.
SpotDraft AI features and use cases
- Reviews contracts against your playbookVerifAI turns a standard template or plain-English rules into a review playbook, then checks incoming contracts against it. It shows source references for each guideline and proposes redlines and comments in track changes. Legal teams spend less time on routine first-pass review.
- Extracts contract data into the repositoryThe repository uses AI to pull contract metadata from uploaded documents, which the vendor puts at over 1,000 types. Dates, parties and terms become searchable fields, so renewals and obligations are easier to find without manual data entry.
- Handles legal requests with an agentThe Sidebar assistant captures incoming requests, gathers context and drafts replies based on the team's legal standards, with human oversight. Legal staff can also ask questions across the full portfolio and compare clauses without opening each contract.
- Drafts and edits from instructionsAI generates contracts from a team's templates and playbooks and applies edits described in plain language. Business users get a usable first draft faster, and lawyers focus on the clauses that need judgment.
What sets SpotDraft apart
- Pricing follows either user count or contract volume, and implementation, migration and 24/7 support are part of every plan according to the vendor.
- Contracts can be reviewed and negotiated in Word, in Slack or inside the web app.
- Public guides let other teams run a first-pass review through a shared link instead of sending every contract to Legal.
- Personal data can be stored in selected regions covering the US, EU, India and the Middle East.
Where SpotDraft is strongest
The vendor names New York as the address of its responsible entity, Draftspotting Inc., and lists an office in Bengaluru; data can be kept in regions in the US, EU, India and the Middle East.
Questions to ask before you buy SpotDraft
