Dayforce is a cloud-based human capital management suite, formerly known as Ceridian, that combines core HR, global payroll, workforce management and talent tools for midsize and large employers.

Dayforce is dual-headquartered in Minneapolis, US, and Toronto, Canada, where the company originated as Ceridian, and was taken private by the investment firm Thoma Bravo. The platform runs core HR, payroll processing across more than 200 countries, workforce scheduling, talent management and analytics on one unified data model.

Customers range from midsize to large, multi-country employers across retail, manufacturing, financial services and the public sector, including named organizations such as Costa Coffee, BlackRock and the City of Columbus.

Dayforce's 2024 annual report (Form 10-K) breaks down revenue by country. Of $1,760.0 million in total, the United States generated $1,161.3 million (about 66 percent), Canada $372.1 million (about 21 percent) and Australia $77.0 million (about 4 percent).

Dayforce does not publish list pricing, so request a quote based on employee count, countries and modules, and ask for its security certifications. Confirm where data is hosted, and note that California's CCPA covers employee data the same way as consumer data. If AI agents make automated scheduling or pay decisions about employees in Quebec, Law 25 requires telling them, explaining on request and allowing a request for human review. In Australia, enterprise agreements require consulting staff before major workplace changes, which can include a new AI system that significantly affects them.
