Medius is an accounts payable automation platform for midsize and large companies that captures, codes, matches and routes supplier invoices inside ERP systems such as SAP, Microsoft Dynamics and NetSuite, with AI for capture, coding, fraud checks and approver support.

The core of Medius is invoice processing from receipt by email, PDF, paper, EDI or e-invoice through capture, matching, coding and approval, plus supplier statement reconciliation. Around it sit payments, procurement and sourcing, contract management, supplier onboarding and expense management. Medius offers packaged connectors for SAP, including certification for SAP S/4HANA, Microsoft Dynamics, NetSuite, Oracle Fusion, Infor and JD Edwards, and names Microsoft Azure as its infrastructure in its trust center. The company is headquartered in Linköping, Sweden, and reports more than 3,000 customers.

• Captures invoice dataMedius Capture reads incoming invoices and validates the extracted data with machine learning models the vendor says it has trained since 2016. AP clerks correct fewer fields by hand, and invoices move into matching and approval faster.
• Prefills coding on non-PO invoicesSmartFlow learns from how earlier invoices from a supplier were handled and prefills GL coding, tax codes and approvers for invoices without a purchase order. Accountants check the proposal instead of keying the same coding for every recurring bill.
• Flags fraud and errorsFraud and Risk Detection uses machine learning to spot possible fraudulent actors, policy violations and errors along the invoice lifecycle and surfaces them in a console and in reports. The AP team sees risky invoices before payment instead of finding them afterward.
• Supports approvers with a copilotMedius Copilot lets approvers ask free-text questions about an invoice or supplier and how to handle it, and translates foreign-language invoices. The vendor says prompts are processed without retention and are not used to train third-party models. Approvers who rarely use the system get answers without calling accounting.
• Answers supplier inquiriesSupplier Conversations reads supplier emails asking about invoice or payment status and replies on its own with the current status. The AP inbox gets fewer routine status questions, so staff can work on exceptions.

• Offers packaged ERP connectors for SAP with S/4HANA certification, Microsoft Dynamics, NetSuite, Oracle Fusion, Infor and JD Edwards.
• Publishes its data processing addendum, sub-processor list, DORA addendum and EU Data Act addendum on a public legal page with version history.
• Combines AP with payments and expense management, so supplier invoices and employee expenses can run with one vendor.

Confirm that your ERP version is covered by a packaged connector and which package, AP Essentials or AP 360, includes the AI features you need. Request the SOC 1 Type II report if auditors rely on AP controls. Ask in which Azure region your data will be stored, since the vendor says data stays in the intended region but does not list regions publicly, and review the current sub-processor list.
