HiBob AI features, pricing and GDPR (September 2026)

HiBob makes an HR platform called Bob for companies of any size, strongest in the UK and US, with an AI layer called Bob Companion and an MCP server that lets external AI tools query workforce data directly.

HiBob builds Bob, a general HR information system for companies of any size, headquartered in London with offices in New York and, since May 2026, Toronto. Its documented strength is the UK and the US, and according to HiBob the interface is available in more than ten languages, including German, French and Spanish. AI is built into talent, performance and payroll workflows rather than sitting as a separate add-on layer, and pricing is arranged through an individual quote.

• Answers workflow questions inside BobBob Companion works as a conversational interface backed by specialized agents that pull live workforce data and suggest next steps directly in the flow of work. A manager can ask about a team's leave balance and get an answer without opening a separate report.
• Connects external AI tools to HR dataA hosted MCP server lets outside AI clients such as Claude or ChatGPT connect to Bob and work with people data, time off, tasks, performance reviews, compensation and hiring; the current OAuth version, which limits each client to the signed-in user's permissions, is in a gradual rollout to customers. Technical HR or IT staff can build on workforce data from tools they already use instead of a Bob-specific interface only.
• Surfaces next steps across talent and payroll workflowsAI features are embedded directly inside talent, performance and payroll workflows rather than as a separate assistant, surfacing relevant actions where the work already happens. HR staff act on suggestions in context instead of switching to a dedicated AI panel.

• Offers a hosted MCP server that lets external AI clients such as Claude or ChatGPT query workforce data directly, a feature not common among HR suites in this directory yet.
• Present in the DACH region since 2022 with its own Berlin office and, since January 2026, a direct DATEV LODAS integration for German payroll; according to HiBob, the interface is also available in German.
• AI features built directly into existing talent, performance and payroll modules rather than offered as a separate assistant product.

HiBob has two home bases: Wikipedia and Forbes list London as its headquarters, while the company's own LinkedIn page names New York, and its September 2026 funding announcement was datelined from both cities.

Before connecting the MCP server, check whether it is live in your account: HiBob's developer changelog says the current version is in a gradual rollout to customers. It uses OAuth, so each connected AI client acts for the signed-in Bob user and sees only what that user may see; review role permissions before you connect. According to HiBob, customer data is hosted on AWS in Ireland with a backup in Frankfurt. In the United Kingdom, solely automated decisions based on performance data need safeguards such as human review under the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025.
